The National Library is located on Parkes Place in the central Canberra suburb of Parkes in the Parliamentary triangle.

Parking
The Library has 350 vehicle, six disabled parking and six motorcycle parking spaces as well as secure bicycle parking facilities. The carparks are patrolled by parking inspectors so visitors are advised to check restrictions before leaving their vehicle. There is a ramp access on the south (Treasury) side of the building. For arrangements to enter the building via the loading bay, call Library security.
Travel by bus
ACTION bus service provides regular buses through the area. In Australia vehicles drive on the left-hand side of the road so ensure you are at a bus stop on the correct side of the road. Closest bus stops to the Library are in King Edward Terrace (between Library and Treasury Building – Routes 2 and 3), Langton Crescent (west side of Treasury Building – Route 6) and at Albert Hall (Commonwealth Ave – Intertown routes 111, 160, 162, 170, 300, 312, 313, 314, 315, 318 and 319).

School and group visits
Walking
Consider planning your group excursion with a visit to nearby institutions. The Library is adjacent Questacon and only ten to fifteen minutes walk from Old Parliament House, Australian Electoral Commission, the National Gallery of Australia, and National Archives of Australia.
School buses and coachlines
There are drop-off and pick-up zones for school buses in front of the Library. There is no street parking for school buses near the Library. Please note parking zones available in front of the Questacon building, adjacent the National Library.
